Nov 10, 2023
DEADLINE: December 22, 2023
Colloids and interfaces consist of very small or thin structures with linear dimensions between nanometers and micrometers. On the one hand, the possible structures represent a „world of hidden dimensions“. On the other hand, the dynamics and structures of these small entities determine the behavior of much larger systems such as organisms.
The Department of Biomolecular Systems (Director Prof. Dr. P.H. Seeberger) at the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces in Potsdam, Germany invites applications from outstanding young scientists for the position of
PhD student in Structural biology (m/f/d)
Your tasks and qualifications
We are looking for a highly motivated PhD student in the field of Structural biology of carbohydrate active enzymes, specifically bacterial glycosyltransferases. The candidate should have a degree in Biochemistry or closely related fields, with an outstanding profile, a strong background and interests in:
Structural biology
Carbohydrates
Enzymes
Biochemistry
Molecular Biology
What we offer
The candidate CV will be evaluated internally according to the project and the best candidates will be invited for an online interview. After the online interview the interviewed candidates will receive an email with the final decision.
The accepted candidate will join the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces, Biomolecular Systems Department, in the group led by Dr. Christian Roth. You will work in Berlin on the Campus of the Free University.
The Max Planck Society strives for gender equality and diversity. We welcome applications from all backgrounds. The Max-Planck Society is committed to increasing the number of individuals with disabilities in its workforce and therefore encourages applications from such qualified individuals.
